What is UREMS?

United Rapid Emergency Medical Services will deliver consistent, prompt, and clinically excellent care to all critically ill and injured patients within our district and community. It is our duty and responsibility to protect life, alleviate suffering, promote health, do no harm, and support equitable access to high-quality emergency medical care. Our goal is to make an impact on the critically ill and injured patients who have no medical aid or health insurance.

Ethical Code

Without regard to nationality, race, creed, colour, or status, UREMS employees provide services based on human need while upholding human dignity and will refrain from using their knowledge and skills in any endeavour that endangers the general public’s health. Furthermore, UREMS employees will uphold respect and maintain the confidentiality of all information of a sensitive nature acquired during execution of professional work, unless disclosure is mandated by law. Maintain professional competence and show consideration for the proficiency of other UREMS members and EMS personnel in general. Be aware of and take part in legislative issues affecting the Emergency Medical Services. Furthermore, assume responsibility for defining and upholding standards of professional practice and education.
